Defaults adversely affect Sectionals by taking play opportunities away from participants and impacting the standings, which diminishes the overall Sectionals experience from the teams that invested their time, efforts and resources.

To insure and maintain a positive experience, one captain from each team is required to authorize a $100 hold before January 27th, via Match Tennis Team. The hold will be released to the captain’s credit card on February 3rd if the team does not default any lines at Sectionals. If the team does default a line, the $100 hold will be donated to the Southern California Tennis Association Foundation.

The Southern California Tennis Association Foundation offers scholarships to promising junior players, funds community programs, special projects, and events that increase access, availability, and participation of tennis for people of all ages, gender, race, abilities, and backgrounds.
