Wild Card Requests

Players seeking a wild card entry into any 2026 SoCal Pro Series event must review the rules and guidelines for wild card requests.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Wild cards may only be requested by United States citizens who are either a legal resident of Southern California or a full-time enrolled student at a Southern California college/university.
Wild cards can also be earned by junior players through competing at Southern California Junior Sectionals and the CIF Individual Championships.
Please click the toggle below to review the rules and regulations.
Wild cards are available to citizens of the United States who are either (A) a legal Southern California Resident (primary residency) or (B) a full-time enrolled student at a Southern California college/university. This residency must be reflected on the USTA Player Profile at the time of registration for the event.
Clarification of any discrepancy of the interpretation of this rule will be at the sole discretion of the Wild Card Committee. The Wild Card Committee reserves the right to request documentation of proof of any kind.
All applicants MUST have an ITF I-pin number.
The Wild Card Committee is made up of the following:
The Tournament Director (varies per event); Trevor Kronemann; Cathy Jacobsen-Guzy; Maria Goldberg; and a USTA representative. The decisions of the Committee are final.
Notification: All wild card recipients will be contacted by email or phone.
Wild Card submissions must be made not less than two weeks prior to tournament start date. Late submissions will not be accepted except under extenuating circumstances.
Once notified of the wild card acceptance, players will have 24 hours to confirm acceptance. If no confirmation is made within 24 hours, the Wild Card Committee will make a substitute wild card selection.
Players can apply for either main draw, qualifying wild cards, or both.
Players can apply for wild cards to multiple tournaments simultaneously.
Wild card requests can only be made through the wild card submission webpage.
> ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS OF WILD CARD RECIPIENTS
As a tennis player, receiving a wildcard into 2026 SoCal Pro Series events is an incredible privilege that should not be taken lightly. With this benefit comes the opportunity to not only showcase your skills on the court but also give back to the sport that has given you so much.
By helping others come up behind you and working with USTA Southern California to promote and grow tennis, you can be a part of something much bigger than just yourself. Your contributions can inspire and encourage the next generation of tennis players and help to create a positive and supportive community both on and off the court.
While giving back is not a mandate, we hope that you will choose to (for example, participating in “Hit with a Pro” at BNP Family Day, earned media, and more). USTA SoCal may ask you to participate in activities such as media interviews, social media posts, photo shoots, junior camps, junior talks, or exhibitions to help promote and grow tennis. These opportunities are not only a chance to showcase your skills but also to give back to the sport and help it continue to thrive.

SoCal Pro Series
Currently in its fifth year, the SoCal Pro Series has provided elite nationally ranked juniors and college players aspiring to ascend to the highest levels of professional tennis an opportunity to earn valuable ATP Tour and WTA Tour world ranking points. For seven straight weeks from May 25 to July 12, cities like Claremont, and facilities such as the Biszantz Family Tennis Center, play host to $15,000-purse International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tour and USTA Pro Circuit men’s and women’s tournaments. It provides a critical pathway and invaluable opportunity and experience to provide a professional level of development for these talented young players.
The series spans Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties and makes its Inland Empire debut this week in Claremont. Already this year, three women and two men—who are either Southern California residents or played collegiate tennis in Southern California—have earned their first WTA/ATP world ranking point through the circuit hosted and managed by the USTA Southern California section. That brings the five-year total to 39 women and 23 men who have established a world ranking through the SoCal Pro Series. Notable alumni who have used the series to catapult onto the professional tour include:
– Learner Tien (Irvine): Current ATP No. 19; 2026 Australian Open Quarterfinalist.
– Alex Michelsen (Aliso Viejo): Current ATP No. 38.
– Iva Jovic (Torrance): Current WTA No. 16; 2026 Australian Open Quarterfinalist.
– California natives: Ethan Quinn (Fresno) – Current ATP No. 66; Zach Svajda (Pacific Beach) – Current ATP No. 84; Brandon Holt (Rolling Hills Estates) – Current ATP No. 252; Tristan Boyer (Altadena) – Current ATP No. 242; Julieta Pareja (Carlsbad) – Current WTA No. 368; Katherine Hui (San Diego) – 2023 US Open Girls’ Singles champion.
SoCal Pro Series’ main draw and qualifying wildcards are available to U.S. citizens who are either legal Southern California residents or full-time college students in the region. In addition, each of the SoCal Pro Series stop included pre-qualifying events which awarded tournament winners a main-draw wildcard.
