> WITHDRAWALS ARE WALKOVERS: Any withdrawal from a consolation draw—even if it was voluntary and you signed up—will be recorded as a walkover.
> WRITE IT DOWN: All withdrawals (singles, doubles, main draw, consolation, etc.) must be communicated to the tournament director in writing.
> THE PENALTY: If you fail to notify the tournament director about a withdrawal, you will receive a default no-show penalty and 5 suspension points.
Beginning in April 2026, we will introduce eight player flighted compass draw tournaments, giving every player the opportunity to compete in three matches with full draws.

> CHALLENGE Q3 WINNERS
Sportsmanship shines brightest when it’s consistent, and these two athletes proved it all season long. Congratulations to our Quarter 3 Ultimate Sportsmanship Challenge winners, recognized for leading with respect, integrity, and positivity both on and off the court:
– Girls’ Winner: Tea Vincent
– Boys’ Winner: Siva Pfanschmidt
Both players were nominated by members of our community for the way they compete, carry themselves, and elevate everyone around them. Well deserved!
> 2025 ULTIMATE SPORTSMANSHIP CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS
We are proud to announce the overall winners of the 2025 Ultimate Sportsmanship Challenge:
– Girls Champion: Tea Vincent
– Boys Champion: Jaden Joyner (earning the title for a second consecutive year!)
As part of their recognition, Jaden and Tea will each receive two tickets to the BNP Paribas Open and a hotel stay in Palm Desert during the event. Their leadership, fairness, and consistent sportsmanship set the gold standard for junior players in our section.
The Ultimate Sportsmanship Challenge has officially restarted for the new year! Here’s how the quarters are structured:
– Quarter 1: January-April
– Quarter 2: May-August
– Quarter 3: September-December
At the end of each quarter, we will select one boy and one girl who stood out for their sportsmanship. The winners of each quarter will receive a $100 gift card to Tennis Warehouse and some sportsmanship swag as well!
We look forward to seeing more players lead with character and continue shaping a positive tournament environment across Southern California.

> BATHROOM BREAKS & MATCH READINESS REMINDER
We’ve noticed a growing trend of bathroom breaks being taken after players have checked in for their matches, including during warmups or mid-match. While we understand that emergencies can happen, we kindly ask all players to take care of personal needs such as using the restroom, getting water, stretching, and warming up before checking in.
Checking in means a player is ready to go on court immediately. Bathroom breaks should ideally be taken during set breaks and not during the warmup or in the middle of a set unless absolutely necessary.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping matches run smoothly and fairly for all players involved.
USTA Southern California Early Development Camps are the first step in the USTA Player Development Pathway. Our goal is to bring together SoCal 10 & Under players, who currently compete in Junior Circuit tournaments in order to practice and play together. Early Development Camps are developed and designed by the USTA High Performance Player Development and utilize local USTA trained coaches.
This two-day camp emphasizes fundamentals and overall athletic development in a fun, educational environment while giving players an opportunity to earn PlayTracker points through match play. Players with excellent work ethic, commitment, talent, and attitude are encouraged to participate.
Register for upcoming Early Development Camps with the links below.
