As the 2025 USTA Adult League season wrapped up at the end of September, the excitement carried straight into the Adult League National Championships, which began the second weekend of October. These annual events brought together the top teams from all 17 USTA sections to compete for national titles and section pride. Earning a spot at Nationals is no small feat, as teams first captured their local league title and then advanced through the Sectional Championships to secure a place among the best in the country.

National events featured NTRP levels ranging from 2.5 to 5.0, with divisions for Men’s and Women’s 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 55 & Over, as well as Mixed 18 & Over and Mixed 40 & Over play. Championships were hosted across San Diego, Surprise, Scottsdale, and Orlando over five consecutive weekends, showcasing some of the highest levels of league competition.

USTA Southern California proudly celebrates the 36 teams that earned their way to Nationals this year. Leading the charge among our 13 areas was San Gabriel Valley with 10 qualifying teams, followed by Orange County with nine, San Diego with seven, San Fernando Valley with five, Los Angeles with two, Beach Cities with two, and San Diego North County with one.

After five weeks of competition, a remarkable 21 of Southern California’s 35 participating teams (with one team unable to attend) earned top-four finishes in their respective divisions, a substantial jump from 15 teams a year ago. Holding either tied or sole possession of second place on the title leaderboard through the first four weeks, Team SoCal closed out Nationals in grand fashion, capturing two more championships in the final weekend to bring their overall total to six. These victories pushed SoCal ahead of both the NorCal and Southern Sections, each with five titles, marking Southern California as the winningest section at the 2025 Adult League National Championships.

The section not only showcased its top players at Nationals, but also saw staff competing against the country’s best as well. USTA SoCal’s very own Community Tennis Coordinator Bryan Hudson represented San Fernando Valley’s “Northridge Quakes” in the Men’s 4.0 18 & Over division during the opening weekend, while San Gabriel Valley Area League Coordinator Mindy Schiffman competed in the fourth weekend with San Fernando Valley’s “Volley Gals” in the Women’s 7.0 division of 55 & Over.

WEEKEND #1: OCTOBER 10-12, 2025

— Men’s 18 & Over 3.5 — 1st Place

Earning the SoCal section’s first National Championship title of the year, Orange County’s “Meta Legend” took home first place in the 3.5 division of Men’s 18 & Over. A remarkable accomplishment, OC went undefeated through both Sectionals and Nationals, posting a flawless 12-0 record over two weekends of competition.
