Train the Carlos Alcaraz way this summer. The Carlos Alcaraz Academy Camps are built to develop the next generation of tennis players, bringing a proven training philosophy focused on complete player development: technical, tactical, physical, and mental. Players will receive expert coaching and individualized feedback while training in a positive, high-performance environment designed to build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong passion for the game.

Players will experience the style of tennis that has made Carlos one of the most exciting athletes in the world, learning to play with intensity, creativity, courage, and joy while practicing signature elements of his game, including the inside-out forehand, explosive court coverage, and his world-famous drop shot. Every session is built to improve confidence, decision-making, resilience and giving players skills that extend far beyond the tennis court.

Quarter 2 is now underway and runs from May 1 through August 31.

The SoCal Standard: Competing with Character in Junior Tennis

Tennis is a mental game that demands intensity, but there is a clear line between competing hard and showing disrespect. Rankings and ratings are tools for development, not weapons to diminish others, and every player on court has earned their place. True toughness comes from staying focused on strategy and effort, not reacting to frustration or an opponent’s status. Respect for competitors should stay constant, regardless of score or ranking.

When behavior crosses into intimidation or exclusion, it shifts away from competition and undermines the spirit of the sport. Players can make a difference by being Upstanders, helping redirect negativity and keeping the focus on tennis. The same standard applies on the sidelines, where concerns should always be handled through proper officials, not direct confrontation.

Read our latest feature on what it means to build a stronger, more respectful tennis culture in SoCal.
