TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Celebrate SoCal’s top juniors and their standout performances on the national stage. Congratulations to Team SoCal on winning the Girls’ Battle of the Sections for the fourth year in a row!
Registration is now open across all areas for the fall season of Junior Team Tennis (JTT)! Grab your friends and create a team or join an existing one to make new connections. The fall season runs September through November, with winning teams advancing to the SoCal Sectional Championships in Palm Desert on December 13-14.
Remember, all JTT matches count toward your WTN, the exclusive rating system used by college coaches for recruiting.
Whether it’s a tight match, a long rally, or the pressure of competition, emotions can run high. But no matter the circumstances, spectators must remain respectful.
> ZERO TOLERANCE IS IN FULL EFFECT
USTA Southern California enforces a strict Zero Tolerance Policy at all junior sanctioned events, focused on spectator behavior. Parents, coaches, and attendees are expected to maintain respectful conduct at all times. Unsportsmanlike behavior, including berating players, arguing with officials, negatively confronting opponents, or any behavior deemed unacceptable toward players, spectators, or staff, will result in immediate removal without appeal. (Friend at Court, Table 17, Section D.2)
This is not just a guideline, it is enforceable. Under the Entourage Rule (Friend at Court, Section D.4), a spectator’s actions before, during, and after matches, even online, can directly impact a player’s suspension points, potentially leading to suspension from USTA tournaments.
And remember: you have already agreed. Every participant and guardian signs a waiver before competing, affirming they understand USTA SoCal’s policies including the Zero Tolerance Policy, Parent Spectator Coach Pledge, and more. By entering, you have committed to:
– Allowing tournament staff to address conflicts without interference.
– Treating officials, personnel, parents, and players with respect.
– Holding your player accountable at all times.
– Modeling good sportsmanship through honesty, integrity, and kindness.
Let us keep the spotlight where it belongs: great tennis, great sportsmanship, and a positive environment for everyone.
Tennis is at its best when respect and integrity share the spotlight with competition. That’s why USTA SoCal is proud to host the Ultimate Sportsmanship Challenge, a year-long celebration of players who embody character, respect, and positivity on and off the court.
From now through December 31, 2025, any SoCal junior competing in USTA L3-L7 or Junior Circuit tournaments is eligible to be nominated. Winners will not only earn recognition from the tennis community but also the chance to win a trip for two to the 2026 BNP Paribas Open.
Participation is easy: simply download the Match Tennis App to nominate players who demonstrate true sportsmanship. Every vote helps highlight the importance of playing the game the right way.
Let’s keep the courts filled with great tennis and great behavior. Respect the game. Respect the players. Respect each other.
Congratulations to Team SoCal’s Cassie Blakey (Palos Verdes Estates) and Isaiah Parra (Culver City) for exemplifying outstanding sportsmanship! Both players showed true character on and off the court, proudly representing our section with integrity and class.
Good habits on the court lead to success off the court. Players should arrive at least 10 minutes early, warmed up and prepared, to signal they are ready to play. They should check themselves in, rather than relying on parents, to build ownership and confidence. After each match, players are responsible for reporting their scores to the tournament desk. These simple steps help develop independence, responsibility, and respect.
Good habits on the court lead to success in life off the court. Players should:
– Check-in means ready to play: arrive 10 minutes early, warmed up, prepared.
– Check yourself in: players (not parents) take ownership.
– Always report your score: players must report to the tournament desk.
These small steps build independence, responsibility, and respect.

USTA Southern California Early Development Camps are the first step in the USTA Player Development Pathway. Our goal is to bring together SoCal 10 & Under players, who currently compete in Junior Circuit tournaments in order to practice and play together. Early Development Camps are developed and designed by the USTA High Performance Player Development and utilize local USTA trained coaches.
This two-day camp emphasizes fundamentals and overall athletic development in a fun, educational environment while giving players an opportunity to earn playtracker points through match play. Players with excellent work ethic, commitment, talent, and attitude are encouraged to participate.
Register for upcoming Early Development Camps with the links below. It’s the perfect chance to level up your game!
